OptiMateŽ OM413
Module with Dark Gray Enclosure
 |
|
The OM413 Setpoint/Display
Panel is a low cost/ high performance man/machine interface
with a broad range of operator input and display capabilities.
The panel includes six field points which can be used for either
setpoint entry or data display. |
Setpoints (display points) can be custom labeled by
the user with plastic inserts. The inserts can be custom legended
with text and/or graphics, and slipped into protective pockets behind
the faceplate. Setpoint adjustment can be performed by use of the
arrow keys to move the value up or down. The Select key is used
to scroll between the six setpoints. An LED to the left of each
label insert shows which one is currently active.
The OM413 Setpoint/Display Panel is part of Optimation's
OptiMateŽ series. Each OptiMateŽ module is designed to connect to
a PLC with a single cable connection. OptiMateŽ 400 series panels
can be used individually with a PLC or in a microprocessor system.
When used with a microprocessor system, simple communications
over an RS232 communications cable allows the microprocessor to
directly read setpoints and update each display point.
When used with a PLC, operation is transparent to
the user. Panel functions tie directly into your PLC ladder logic
program. The OM413 takes care of the rest.

Benefits
.
Saves valuable I/O rack space
. Eliminates the need for controller I/O modules
for operator panel use
. Reduces system integration and retrofit
costs
. Remove and replace maintainability
. Rapid future expansion
. Attractive, eye-appealing appearance
Direct Connect to PLCs
OptiMateŽ modules connect and operate directly with most major
PLCs. A simple cable connection allows the PLC to control each lamp
directly simply by setting bits in data registers. Everything else
is totally transparent.
Microprocessor Based Systems
OptiMateŽ modules connect to any computer or microprocessor-based
system through a serial link. RS232 communications can be employed.
The microprocessor controller simply polls for module data or sends
module commands to completely control the operator panels.
Legending the Buttons
Legending the OM413 module involves simply sliding a legend transparency
into the pockets in the panel overlay. The bezel can be removed
from the front of the module. Once this is done legend transparencies
can be placed behind the overlay. A legend transparency can be created
by a number of methods. Computer graphics programs combined with
overhead transparency paper and a laser printer and/or copier produce
excellent results. Other options are listed in the OM413 data sheet.
Configuration
Configuring the OM413 requires the OM-WIN EDIT Configuration Editor,
a cable connecting your PC to the module, and a 5VDC power supply
with a center negative plug: all sold by Optimation.
